Bio-Social Model of Emotion Dysregulation

Summary:

This study looks at the effects of parental validation on non-clinical children’s state-trait anger, anxiety, depression, and stress levels. For this study, we are developing a measure based on Marsha Linehan’s (1997) six levels of validation. The study will use pairs of parents and children to examine the relationship between parents’ use of validation and their children’s difficulties with emotion regulation.
